Spring Orchard - Clinics & Services
Our highly experienced practice nurse Angela Bennett has received special training in women's health and do much of the routine cervical cytology examination and testing. We are able to offer a full range of contraceptive advice including the fitting of IUCDs (Coils) and implants.
We also share the care of our pregnant patients with the district midwife and the local hospital.
Simple skin lesions, skin cancers, moles, cysts and blemishes, as well as most joint injections, are dealt with routinely in the practice without the need to attend hospital and endure long waiting lists. Thanks to the kindness of our patients, we have a very well equipped treatment room where these services are carried out quickly and efficiently.
Our practice nurse is highly skilled in this branch of medicine and will happily advise you. Please book an appointment to see her. Some of these jabs, and all antimalarials, are not available on the NHS - so please be aware we may need to make a charge.
Please note, we are not licensed to administer Yellow Fever Vaccines - these may be obtained at Tisbury Surgery.
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
- Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
- Insurance claim forms
- Passport signing
- Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
- Private sick notes
- Vaccination certificates
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
